3. DOWNLOAD and INSTALL (or UPDATE) FIREFOX and CHROME
These are very important. Very often when websites aren’t working, it’s the fault of the browser not the site itself. In order to eliminate the possibility of browser issues when troubleshooting, it’s best to have two or more browsers installed. Firefox and Chrome are our favorites, but you may also want to install Safari or IE.- Firefox – http://getfirefox.com
- Chrome - http://google.com/chrome
- Safari – (Pre-installed on Macs)
- Internet Explorer – (Pre-installed on PCs)

4. UPDATE OR INSTALL JAVA
You can download Java here: http://java.com/en/download/ index.jsp. If you’re not sure if you have Java, check here: http://java.com/en/download/ installed.jsp?detect=jre&try=1 . You’d be surprised how often problems are related to outdated Java!
5. UPDATE YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM
If you’re running a PC and if you don’t know if your system is up to date, try using these instructions. If you have a Mac, click the apple in the upper left hand corner of your screen and then click “Software Update…” Usually, software updates are automatic, but please check just in case.
If you have ANY problems with these items, please don’t hesitate to call me. You can also call any of our other designers. Our contact information is located here: http://idesign.uaf.edu/team/
The entire team is looking forward to iTeach! See you Friday.
