I made it! I’m here for my second stint @ iTeach. I hope to set up a lovely wordpress site for my on-line class this fall. At the moment, I am stuck trying to create a new tab and rotate my banner photo (and have been for two months!!) .
My goal for the week is to create a virtual classroom which appeals to developmental-level students who are learning to negotiate the writing and computing worlds simultaneously (some don’t hold out much hope for this).
As for me, I taught English in Japan for ten years, and have been in Fairbanks, by way of England, Barrow and California, for the past three years. I am finishing my doctorate in international higher ed. at the University of MN, and often feel like I’m crossing cultures coming to these internet-related workshops, certainly speaking another language….
