I teach English Literature, English composition and Academic Writing for the Sciences. I am a medievalist and minored in botany. My area of research is the use of herbs and their allegorical representations in medieval manuscripts. My children are grown but we have 4 fluffy children who dominate the house.I enjoy outdoorsy things, I am part of a medieval reenactment society and a complete and total nerd (Live Long and Prosper). I will admit that when it comes to computers, I am not savvy in any shape or form; however, I am determined to learn how to teach on-line. I have used Blackboard as a tool every semester but I would not say that the use of a computer in teaching is my strong point other then the use of PowerPoints. Therefore, I am fairly excited to be learning and my goal is to be more comfortable and challenge myself.

Aly -- I like your approach here…for me, gmail, twitter, diigo, dropbox, iTeach blog, no RSS, capzles, screencast, zebrazapps, Quia, skype, jing, YouTube; didn’t add to the iTeach wiki…integrate, try out, want to find my “absolute favorite” tool…i think it’s going to be YouTube, screencast and zebra. Good luck!
